This Mimosa (Acacia dealbata) grew on the corner of Blake Hall Road and Woodlands Avenue.

Native to Tasmania and SE Australia, it is more usually found in milder area of the country such as the SW, but can do well in sheltered positions here in the SE.

That said,this mature specimen was hit badly by cold weather during the winter of 2009/10. Although a small part flowered in late June the tree was subsequently removed and a new one planted.
